Energy Crisis and Environmental Degradation
The Energy Crisis and Environmental Degradation
Due to the depletion and high rate of consumption of fossil fuels has resulted energy crisis and a steep decline in the reservoirs of these non-renewable sources. It is presently estimated that these non-renewable sources of energy would become exhausted from the geographical topography if continued to be used as per the present rate.
The use of fossil fuels has resulted growing adverse impacts on the environment which has caused the worldwide alarming problems such as global rise in temperature or global warming, acid rain etc., due to the release of flue and harmful gases such as CO2, CO, NOx etc. into the atmosphere. This has resulted melting of ice glaciers and environmental degradation and various other hazards.
These developments have forced the scholars and the researchers to search for alternative sources of fuel which are renewable and also economically and environmentally sustainable.
List of Alternative Fuels
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)
Hydrogen added Natural Gas
Liquefied Petroleum Gas
